HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Belfry rolls past BL; JC bounces LC

Belfry landed five players in double-figure scoring as the Pirates cruised past Betsy Layne, 78-61, in a game played at Belfry Gymnasium on Saturday night.

Tyler Chaffin poured in 21 points as the Pirates improved to 2-0. Sal Dean followed with 21 and Bol Kuir added 15 points and 13 rebounds for  double-double. Zachary Savage and Ben McNamee tossed in 10 each.

Jordan Frazier led the Bobcats (1-2) with a game-high 22 points and seven boards. Brady Robinson followed with 19 and Davey Bentley added eight.

Johnson Central ran out to a big halftime lead against Lawrence County and the Golden Eagles went on to earn an 82-65 win in a game played at Eagle Fieldhouse on Saturday night.

John King paced JC, now 3-0, with 18 points and Isaiah May added 10. Cory VanHoose chipped in nine.

Trenton Adkins scored a game-high 22 points for the Bulldogs, now 2-1. Cody Maynard net 15 and Kaden Gillispie tallied 13.
