HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Betsy Layne rolls past Bath County; Warriors move to 2-0

Betsy Layne landed all five starters in double figures as the Bobcats ran past Bath County in a road game played on Thursday night.

Jordan Frazier and Brady Robinson led the way with 19 points each as the Bobcats improved to 1-1. Frazier also has 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double. Shawn Howell tossed in 15 while Andrew Kidd and Chase Mims added 10 each.

Isaiah May fired in a game-high 25 points and John King added 15 as the Golden Eagles moved to 2-0. Grant Rice and Ryleh McKenzie added nine each.

East Ridge continued its strong early-season start with an 89-57 win over Floyd Central in a game played on the Reservation Thursday night.

The Warriors, now 2-0, landed five players in double figure scoring as Eli Rose led the way with 22 points. Eli Sykes followed with 15 while Braxton Stanley added 14. Issac Woods tallied 13 and Hunter Damron net 10.

Ronnie Sammons paced the Jaguars, now 1-1, with a game-high 25 points. Braden Moore finished with 17 and Brody Buck tossed in 11.

Neal Brooke scored a team-high 23 points as Lawrence County improved to 2-0. Kensley Feltner followed with 21 and Kaison Ward chipped in 10.
