HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Eagles, Dawgs, Hawks score big wins

Johnson Central dominated Magoffin County from the outset as the Golden Eagles rolled to a 91-51 win at Eagle Fieldhouse on Thursday night.

Isaiah May and Cory VanHoose poured in 18 points apiece as JC improved to 4-1. Kamen Slone followed with 15 and John King added nine.

Aden Barnett finished with a game-high 22 points for the Hornets, now 2-3. Ben Lafferty chipped in eight.

Lawrence County grabbed the early lead against Rose Hill Christian and went on to score a 91-67 victory in a game played on Thursday night.

Trenton Adkins paced four Bulldogs in scoring with a game-high 26 points as the Bulldogs moved to 3-1. Cody Maynard fired in 25 points while Kaden Gillispie netted 16 and Baden Gillispie tossed in 13.

Pike County Central overcame a first-quarter deficit and rallied to beat Martin County, 70-64, in a game played on Thursday night.

The Hawks, now, 2-1, landed four players in double-digit scoring, led by Jaylan Rigdon and Kasope Lawrence with 18 each. Josh Du Toit added 15 and Bryce Adkins tossed in 10.

Brady Dingess finished with a game-high 23points as the Cardinals fell to 1-4. Jacob Butcher followed with 11 while Parker Dais and Jordan Dalton net 10 each.
