HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Blackcats bounce Jackson City; LCC rolls

Prestonsburg took control early on and went on to beat Jackson City, 66-48, in a game played at Prestonsburg Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.

Faith Lazar led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points as the Lady Blackcats moved to 3-2. Celina Mullins finished with 14 and Maggie Nelson tallied 11. Alivia Slone chipped in eight.

Letcher Central dominated from start to finish as the Lady Cougars cruised past Cordia, 78-19, in a game played at LCCHS Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Brooke Bates led the way with a game-high 20 points and scored her 1,000th career point as LCC moved to 2-1. Bailey Kincer net 13 points and Farrah Combs followed with 12. Kaylee Banks chipped in eight.
