HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Blackcats knock off Lady Tigers

PRESTONSBURG – Prestonsburg landed three players in double figure scoring as the Lady Blackcats beat Paintsville, 51-35, in a game played on Tuesday night.

Faith Lazar led the attack with 18 points while Celina Mullins added 15 as Prestonsburg moved to 7-12. Destiny Elliott added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Kelsi Brinager paced the Lady Hawks (10-12) with 17 points. Chloe Neece had nine rebounds.

PHELPS – Belfry pulled away from Phelps in the second half and rolled to a 62-40 district matchup win played at the McCoy Athletic Center on Friday night.

Katie Ball had 18 points and 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double as the Lady Pirates (11-10) avenged an earlier loss to the Lady Hornets (13-9). Cushi Fletcher followed with 17 points while Linzee Phillips and Kyra Justice tossed in nine each.

Danielle Prater and Kylie Hall had 10 apiece for Phelps. Hall also finished with 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Alexis Ratliff followed with 17 and Brooke Neal added 10.

Katie Jo Moore poured in a game-high 29 points for the Lady Jaguars (11-7). She also had eight rebounds. Kennedy Blevins added 14 and Kennedy Harvel chipped in nine.

Madilyn Meade fired in 20 points and Katie Meade added nine points and eight rebounds as the Lady Cats moved to 8-16. Alexandria Jarvis finished with eight points and 10 boards.

Alison Campbell led the Lady Blackcats (6-12) with 14 points and Alivia Slone tossed in 12. Destiny Elliott finished with nine and 11 rebounds.
