PIKEVILLE – Pikeville saw an early lead slip away as Russell came from behind to beat the Lady Panthers, 62-53, in a game played at the T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday.
The Lady Panthers, now 19-5, landed three players in double figure scoring as Kelsey Jo Tackett led the way with 20 points. Alivia Gearheart followed with 14 and Kirsten Cole-Williamson tossed in 13.

Trey Francis poured in a game-high 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double as the Hornets improved to 15-10. Dominick Francis followed with 20 points and nine boards while Cameron Sanson chipped in 10.
Brett Coleman paced the Pirates, now 7-12, with 18 points and eight rebounds. Caleb Spears scored 11 and Tyler Chaffin added nine.

Betsy Layne, now 14-8, recognized former coach and principal Cassandra Akers prior to the game as the court was named in her honor.
Trenton Adkins led the Bulldogs (17-9) with 20 points while Tyler Maynard tossed in 13 and Baden Gillispie followed with 12. Cody Maynard finished with 11.
Jordan Frazier scored a game-high 29 points for the Bobcats, who played without Brady Robinson. Chase Mims and Lukas Manns added 10 each.
