HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Tigers, Wildcats advance in All A Classic

The Paintsville Tigers and Shelby Valley Wildcats punched their tickets to the 15th Region All “A” Classic tournament semifinals at the Appalachian Wireless Arena with victories on Monday night.

Martin County…64

Paintsville stormed back from a 22-point, second half deficit to stun Martin County, 65-64.

Colby Fugate tossed in 19 points and Braxton Tharp followed with 14 as the Tigers improved to 2-1. Connor Fugate added 12.

Luke Hale paced the Cardinals, now 1-3, with a game-high 27 points Brady Dingess followed with 22 and Jacob Butcher tallied nine.

At Pikeville

Shelby Valley took the lead away from Prestonsburg in the second period and cruised to a 67-41 victory.

Kaden Robinson poured in a game-high 25 points and Chaz Brown finished with 18.

Ryan Rose led the Blackcats (0-2) with 10 points.
