Prestonsburg defeated North Laurel by a 2-1 count for their lone win in four matches played in the First Priority Lady Colonel Volleyball Classic at Whitley County on Saturday.
The Lady Blackcats fell to Leslie County (2-1), Cumberland Homeschool (2-1) and host Whitley County (2-0).
In the win over North Laurel, Molly Boyd had five kills, seven assists, two digs and two aces in the 20-25, 25-14 and 17-15 win. Erin Akers finished with five kills, 13 assists, four digs and four aces. Jada Slone had five kills and five digs.
In the loss to Leslie County, Boyd totaled seven kills, six assists, seven digs and two aces in the 13-25, 25-23 and 15-13 match Akers had nine assists and nine digs.
Akers finished with three kills, six assists, 14 digs and four serving aces in the 25-20, 23-25 and 15-9 loss to Cumberland Homeschool.
Boyd added seven kills, one block, seven assists, seven digs and two aces.
Against host Whitley County, Slone had two kills and nine digs while Boyd finished with five kills, two assists, five digs and three aces. Akers had two kills, four assists, six digs and two serving aces.
Martin County goes 2-1
Martin County scored wins over Bell County (2-0) and Cumberland Homeschool (2-0) while falling to North Laurel (2-0).
In the win over Bell County, Alyssa McCoy had 10 assists, nine digs and two aces in the 25-19 and 25-19 win. Allicen Grayson had three kills, five digs and one ace while Lauren Horn had five kills.
McCoy had two kills, 10 assists, six digs and one ace in the 25-23 and 25-15 win over Cumberland Homeschool. Kira Osborn had four kills, two blocks and seven digs.
In the loss to North Laurel, McCoy finished with two kills, 13 assists and eight digs in the 25-22 and 25-21 match. Osborn totaled three kills and five digs while Grayson finished with four kills and three digs. Horn totaled four kills and four digs.
