HS VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Paintsville blanks Betsy Layne

Paintsville rans its record to a perfect 9-0 after the Lady Tigers went on the road and defeated Betsy Layne, 3-0, in a match played at Junior Newsome Arena on Monday night.

Hailey Little finished with 11 digs, three blocks, two digs and two aces in the 25-11, 25-17 and 25-16 win.

Hadley Hardin totaled 10 kills, two blocks, five digs and one ace while Bella Blackburn had 24 assists, six digs and two aces. Kara Ward added seven kills and four digs.

Lindsey Watkins had two blocks, 11 assists and four digs in the loss. Madi Meade had 10 digs and one ace. Katie Kidd totaled three kills, six blocks, two digs and one ace.

Pike Central overcame a 2-1 deficit and rally past Phelps, 3-2, in a 60th District matchup played at the Hawks Nest on Monday night.

LaRanda Francis had 14 kills, nine blocks, three digs and four serving aces for the Lady Hornets in the 25-15, 19-25, 25-22, 17-25 and 12-15 setback.

Amelia Casey totaled 19 kills, six blocks, two digs and two aces while Kacie Dotson had 11 kills and four digs. Alyssa Wolford finished with 11 digs and Kaylynn Layne had six kills, 18 assists, five digs and four aces.

East Ridge took control early on and the Lady Warriors cruised to a 3-0 victory over Shelby Valley in a match played at the Reservation on Monday night.

Hannah Blackburn had eight kills and six digs in the25-13, 25-22 and 25-18 win. Kiersten Coleman and Sylvia Ratliff added six kills apiece.

Jordan Bailey finished with 10 digs and Sarah Woods totaled 20 assists.
