GOODY – Belfry ran out to a big lead early on and cruised to a 73-33 win over Pike County Central in the Kentucky 2A tournament championship game played on Friday night.
The Pirates, now 7-7, will play this coming Friday against Warren East in the opening round at the Owensboro Sports Center.
Katie Ball had a big night for Belfry with 27 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocked shots, just missing out on a triple double. Taylor Layne followed with 16 points and Kyera Thornsbury added 14. Cushi Fletcher chipped in eight.
Kelsi Brinager paced the Lady Hawks (5-10) with 12 points and Bailey Birchfield added nine in the loss.
