Two-time defending Class AA state champion Chapmanville is the new No. 1 team in the latest Mountain Top Sports boys’ Super 7 basketball poll released on Tuesday.
The Tigers, now 9-1, have won nine straight games since losing the opener to out-of-state foe Christ’s Church Academy.
Shelby Valley, now 12-4, is second, followed by Lawrence County (10-6) at No. 3. Martin County (7-10) is fourth, followed by Johnson Central (8-6) now fifth.
Rounding out the poll are Betsy Layne (9-6) in sixth and Logan (6-3) is seventh.
Receiving votes are Man (5-1), Mingo Central (5-3), Paintsville (5-8) and Pikeville (8-6).
