Chapmanville, despite having its 48-game winning streak against instate foes snapped by county rival Logan, held on to the No. 1 ranking in the latest Mountain Top Sports boys’ Super 7 basketball rankings released on Tuesday.
The Tigers, now 10-2, remained ahead of second-ranked Shelby Valley (14-5). The Wildcats are followed by No. 3 Johnson Central (12-6) and No. 4 Paintsville (9-8. The Tigers are coming off winning the 15th Region All “A” Classic championship.
Martin County (7-11) is fifth, followed by Pikeville (10-7) at sixth while Betsy Layne (9-7), Lawrence County (10-8) and Logan (7-5) are all tied for seventh.
Man (7-1), Phelps (10-9) and Magoffin County (10-8) received votes.
