Mountain Top Media (MtM) and Mountain Sports Hall of Fame have joined forces to showcase the rich history of sports throughout eastern Kentucky and neighboring towns across the state.
MtM President Cindy May Johnson and Hall of Fame founder Jerry Fultz announced an agreement which named MtM as the group’s official media partner.
“Sports is a big part of our history and culture,” Fultz said. “We are excited to be able to share our resources with this great organization. It will allow us to reach so many people on so many different levels.”
The Hall of Fame is in the small town of Wayland, along the Floyd and Knott County lines. It is home to the late and legendary “King” Kelly Coleman.
Members have taken on the task of restoring the old Wayland High School gymnasium, where Coleman became king of Kentucky high school basketball. It will house the Hall of Fame permanently once it has been fully renovated.
“We are looking forward to our new partnership with the Hall of Fame and its committee,” Johnson said. “Being able to promote the rich history of sports in our region will be beneficial to all involved.”
MtM, along with the Hall of Fame, will share video recordings, pictures, stories, one-on-one interviews, and memorabilia which fans can enjoy for a lifetime.
