The Pikeville Panthers fell to the Corbin Cougars 22-7 DATE but showed a bright spot amid the low-scoring affair.
Sophomore Cole Slone caught a 48-yard touchdown pass from senior Isaac Duty on a go route straight down the field to put the Panthers first touchdown in the books for the 2024 season.
Along with the successful extra point, the touchdown was the only score the Panthers put on the board. But Pikeville will be looking ahead this early in the season to games five home games coming up against Johnson Central, Belfry, Ironton, and the last two home stands against the Hazard Bulldogs, both in October.
