Johnson Central held onto the No. 1 position in the latest Mountain Top Sports Super 7 football poll released Monday.
The Golden Eagles, now 5-0, and winners of 20 straight games, went on the road and beat Harlan County.
Belfry, following its impressive shutout win over Lawrence County, holds down the No. 2 position with a 4-2 record.
Pikeville, now 5-1 after whipping up on Hazard, remains third, followed by Paintsville at No. 4. The Tigers are 5-0 after beating previously unbeaten West Carter on Saturday night.
Shelby Valley is 5-1 and ranked fifth following a big shutout win over East Ridge while Letcher Central, which is 4-0, is sixth. The Cougars have not played the previous two weeks because of COVID restrictions.
Pike Central moved into the No. 7 position following the Hawks big win over Magoffin County on Friday night. The Hawks are 3-2.
Receiving votes this week are Lawrence County (2-1), Martin County (3-2) and Tug Valley (3-0). The Panthers have been idle the past two weeks because of COVID restrictions.
