57TH DISTRICT SOFTBALL: VanHoose tosses no-hitter in title game win over PHS

Johnson Central pitcher Chloe VanHoose fanned 17 batters and walked only two as the Lady Eagles blanked cross-town rival Paintsville, 8-0, in the championship game played at Magoffin County High School on Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles moved to 30-6 and will enter the 15th Region tournament as a one seed while the Lady Tigers (16-19) will be a two seed.

Mayson Delong tripled, singled twice, walked, scored, and drove in a pair of runs. Kendal Hall added two hits and batted in one run while scoring. Clara Blair collected two hits, one a double, and batted in one run while Randi Delong had two hits, walked, and knocked in one run.

VanHoose had two hits and added an RBI and Emily Adkins singled in one run and scored.

Hannah Taylor and Carrigan Ratliff each walked for the Lady Tigers. Laney Bledsoe was the losing pitcher.
