57TH DISTRICT TOURNAMENT: Fugate pitches Tigers to shutout win

Paintsville pitcher Connor Fugate fanned 16 batters and allowed just one hit as the Tigers blanked cross-town rival Johnson Central, 3-0, in the 57th District tournament championship game played on Wednesday night.

Johnson Central’s Brock Butcher singled in the first inning and losing pitcher Cameron Kelsey reached on a walk.

Harris Phelps, Jonah Porter, and Anderson Lauffer had RBI singles. Peyton Adams had two hits and scored while Grayson Peters doubled, walked, and scored.
