57TH DISTRICT TOURNAMENT: Lady Eagles punch ticket to regionals next week

Johnson Central built a big first-quarter lead and went on to eliminate Magoffin County, 67-24, in the opening round of the girls’ 57th District tournament played on Sunday.

The victory puts the Lady Eagles (19-4) into the championship game and an automatic berth in the 15th Region tournament.

Sammi Sites led JC with 20 points while Clara Blair followed with 11 and Kelci Blair net 10.

Angel Mullis paced the Lady Hornets (5-22) with 10 points.
