Pike Central took charge early on and rolled to a 71-50 victory over Phelps in the boys’ 60th District tournament matchup played at the Hawks Nest on Tuesday night.
The win sends the Hawks (16-9) into Friday night’s championship game against Belfry. Both teams have qualified for the regional tournament next week.
Jaylan Rigdon paced Central with a game-high 21points. Kasope Lawrence followed with 16 while Latee Childress tossed in 11 and Josh Du Toit added 10.
Keandre Galaurb-Jackson paced the Hornets (5-19) with 16 points. Jaeshon Nugent finished with 10 and Mason Prater chipped in eight.
