COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Wildcats escape Hawks in overtime

Kentucky’s Tre Mitchell hit a pair of three-point goals early in overtime to push the Wildcats past Saint Joseph’s 96-88 at Rupp Arena on Monday night.

Mitchell finished with 22 points, six rebounds and four blocks as UK moved to 4-1. D.J. Wagner added 22 points. It was a season high for both players.

Antonio Reeves followed with 20 while Rob Dillingham tallied 13. Justin Edwards tossed in 12.

Mitchell’s three-point basket gave the Wildcats a 41-38 lead at the break. It was 77-all after regulation.

Kentucky, now 4-1, will host Marshall (2-2) on Friday. Tipoff is 7 pm.
