Paintsville jumped out to an early lead and the Lady Tigers cruised to an 85-67 win over Floyd Central in the season opener played on Friday night.
Emilea Preece poured in a game-high 28 points and KK Vannoy followed with 17. Karah Lafferty net 15 and Kylie Kinner tossed in 14.
Riley Compton paced the Lady Jaguars with 23 points. Chloe Crase tallied 15 and Kaylee Hall added 14.

East Ridge held on down the stretch to beat Cornerstone Christian (TN), 46-41, in the Hoopalachia Hardwood Classic played at Twin Valley (VA) on Friday night.
The Lady Warriors, who hit just 15 of 37 free throws, improved to 2-0.
Kourtlee Keene led the way with 17 points. Makenzie Sawyers finished with 13 and Breonna Tackett tossed in 11.
