HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Blackcats get past Jags; stay unbeaten

 

Prestonsburg scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter and the Blackcats held off Floyd Central, 33-28, in a game played before a big crowd at Josh Francis Memorial Field on Friday night. 

Running back Ethan Jarvis ran for 197 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 30 carries as Prestonsburg moved to 5-0. Quarterback Reece Hamilton tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Dalton Elliott, who also ran for a short score. 

Floyd Central running back Blake Adams rushed 12 times for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Quarterback Max Martin added a rushing score.  

B.J. Petersend returned a kickoff for a touchdown. 

Both teams will be back in action on Friday night as the Jaguars (0-5) visit Pike Central (1-4) and the Blackcats go on the road to East Ridge (2-2). Both games will kick off at 7:30 pm.
