HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Blackcats run past Warriors

Prestonsburg’s defense forced East Ridge into early turnovers and the Blackcats took advantage to build a big lead and cruise to a 48-22 district win at Josh Francis Memorial Field on Friday night.

Running back Ethan Jarvis had 150 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 18 carries as Prestonsburg won its fourth straight game. Carter Akers finished with 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 21 rushes.

Running back Brant George added 79 yards on 10 carries and one score. Brayden Goble return a botched punt six yards for a score.

East Ridge quarterback Dylan Burdine passed for 259 yards and two scores as the Warriors lost for the third straight game. He also ran for a touchdown.

Landon Robinson hauled in a 59-yard TD reception and Brad Howell caught a 48-yard touchdown pass.
