Betsy Layne’s high-octane offense was on display as the Bobcats dominated in a 67-32 road win over Floyd Central on Friday night.
Quarterback Chase Mims had a big game, passing for 344 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 91 yards and two scores.
Running backs Austin Tackett and Mitchell Castle added a rushing touchdown each. Receiver Brady Robinson hauled in a pair of TD passes while Dylon Williams, Reese Music and Nicholas Howell caught one each. Williams also returned an interception 67 yards to paydirt.
Floyd Central Running back John Johnson ran for two scores while Blake Adams and Sheston Johnson added one each. Adams led the Jaguars with 80 yards on 15 carries.
Quarterback Max Martin passed for 150 yards and a touchdown to B.J. Peterson, who had three catches for 94 yards.
Floyd Central’s season ends at 2-9.
The Bobcats will play at Paintsville (5-5) in the Class 1A playoffs on Nov. 5. Kickoff from Memorial Field is 7:30 pm.
