HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Chapmanville wins season opener against Sissonville

Chapmanville went on the road and dominated Sissonville as the Tigers scored  a 28-7 win in a game played at Joe Sawyers Field on Friday night.

Tiger quarterback Robert Cook had a pair of rushing touchdowns, including a 74-yard run after being flushed out of the pocket. He finished with 113 yards on 12 rushes.

Chapmanville scored first on a halfback option pass from Austin Adkins to Andrew Toppings.

Running back Preston Kovach added 45 yards on eight carries.

The Tigers will visit Poca (0-1) on Friday night. Kickoff from O.O. White Stadium is set for 7 pm.
