HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Cougars cruise past Hawks

Letcher Central dominated from start to finish as the Cougars defeated Pike County Central, 48-0, in a game played at Cougar Field on Friday night.

Quarterback Jonah Little passed for a 59-yard touchdown and ran for two scores as Letcher Central improved to 2-1.

Running back Keyante Miller ran for 100 yards and a score on 10 carries while Isaac Matthews added a touchdown run.

Receiver Daelyn Shepherd had the one catch which went for a touchdown. Gavin Brown returned a punt for a score and Brett Smith returned a kickoff back for another.

Pike Central, now 1-2, was held to just 115 yards total, all on the ground.

The Hawks will play at Clay County (2-1) and the Cougars go to Hazard (2-1) on Friday night. Both games will kick at 7:30 pm.
