HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Grimm’s fourth-quarter TD runs lift Eagles past Madison Central

Johnson Central quarterback Jacob Grimm ran for a pair of fourth quarter scores, including the go-ahead touchdown, as the Golden Eagles opened the season with a hard-fought 28-21 win over Madison Central in the Hutch Bowl played at Eagles Field on Friday night.

Grimm had a one-yard run and then added a 24-yard scamper. He rushed for 57 yards and passed for 66.

Running back Zack McCoart ended the game with 94 yards on six attempts. Christian Barnes and Logan Morrow added an rushing touchdown each.

The Golden Eagles (1-0) will return to action on Saturday night as the travel to Pikeville to face the Panthers (1-0) in the Pike County Bowl. Kickoff is 8 pm.
