HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Man edges Shady after dropped conversion pass

Shady Spring was a two-point conversion from tying Man with less than five minutes to play. 

A wide-open pass was dropped by the Tigers and the Hillbillies held on for a 22-20 win in a game played at George S. Queen Field on Friday night.

Man moved to 5-1 with the win against the Class AA opponent. Shady dropped to 3-4.

Running back Kaleb Mullins finished with 98 yards and two scores on 20 carries. Jayden Brumfield added a rushing touchdown.

The Hillbillies will travel to Sophia to face two-time defending Class AA state champion Independence (3-3) on Friday night. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
