Pike County Central’s three-headed monster shredded Breathitt County’s defense as the Hawks knocked off the Bobcats, 54-34, in a game played at the Hawks Nest on Friday night.
Central, now 4-4, ran for 558 yards and had 567 yards in offense.
Running back Matt Anderson rushed 27 times for 175 yards and four touchdowns while quarterback Tayvian Boykins had 250 yards and one score on 16 carries.
Keegan Bentley added 133 yards and two touchdowns on eight rushes.
Noah Iricks led five Hawks in double-digit tackles with 13. Aaron Slone followed with 11 while Cameron Kimbler, Adrien Anthony and Andrew Wood had 10 each. Kimbler recovered a fumble and Xavier Rogers picked off one pass.
Pike Central will now await the post-season playoffs. The opening round opponent is likely to be Lawrence County on the road.
