HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Tigers earn blue collar win over Dots

Chapmanville’s defense held Poca scoreless throughout the second half as the Tigers grinded their way to a 24-14 win at O.O. White Stadium on Friday night.

Quarterback Robert Cook passed for 135 yards, completing 11 of 15 passes and two touchdowns. Running back Jeremy Collins added 63 yards on the ground and put the game out of reach with an 11-yard TD run with less than eight minutes to play.

Receiver Andrew Topping hauled in four passes for 80 yards, including a 24-yard scoring play.

Chapmanville will play at home for the first time on Friday night as they host the Winfield Generals (1-1) at Barker Stadium. Kickoff is 7:30 pm
