HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Tigers run past Briar Jumpers in road win

Paintsville’s defense shut down Somerset’s offense from the very outset as the Tigers rolled to a 33-6 win in a game played at Clark Field on Friday night.

Running back Harris Phelps rushed for 241 yards and a touchdown on 18 rushing attempts as the Tigers won for the first time under new head coach Trevor Hoskins.

Blayden Sexton added 86 yards on nine carries and capped the scoring with an eight-yard run.

Quarterback Frederick James tossed a pair of touchdown passes, one each to Colby Fugate and Jonah Porter. Porter also returned a fumble 18 yards for a touchdown.
