HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Valley dominates in win over Floyd Central

Shelby Valley’s defense was rock solid, and the Wildcats overcame a slow start to beat Floyd Central, 36-0, in a game played at Hobart Cay Johnson Field on Friday night.

Running back Jayden Newsome rushed for 149 yards on 12 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns as the Wildcats improved to 2-1.

Quarterback Russ Osborne ran for 95 yards and two scores and tossed a 66-yard scoring pass play to John Fields.

Floyd Central running back Blake Adams had 45 yards on the ground to lead the Jaguars, now 0-3. Quarterback Max Martin passed for 64 yards.

Floyd Central will return home on Friday night to face Leslie County (0-3) and Shelby Valley travels to London to face North Laurel (1-1). Both games will kick at 7:30 pm.
