HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Warriors pull away, beat Bobcats on the road

East Ridge running back Isaiah Adkins scored on a 26-yard run on the final play of the opening half to give the Warriors a four-point lead and they went on to best Betsy Layne, 5435, in a game played at Bobcat Stadium on Friday night.

Adkins finished with 308 yards and five touchdowns on 15 rushes as East Ridge improved to 2-1.  Quarterback Dylan Burdine added 105 yards on nine carries and one score.

Running back Steven Layne had 40 yards and a pair of touchdown runs.

Betsy Layne running back Reese Music had another big rushing game as he ran for 255 yards and two touchdowns on only 10 carries.

Carter Parsons and Brady Robinson each threw for a score. Robinson was on the receiving end of Parsons pass, and he hit Landon Howell for a score.

Both teams are off this weekend before returning to action on Sept. 16. The Warriors will play at Tug Valley (2-0) while the Bobcats, now 1-2, will journey to Knott Central (1-1). Both games will kick at 7:30 pm.
