Shelby Valley pounded out nine hits and opened the season with an 11-5 win over Magoffin County in a game played in Salyersville on Monday.
Olivia Bowling had three hits and scored three runs and winning pitcher Lily Napier helped her own cause with two hits and four RBIs. Beth Warner singled , scored and drove in two runs. Katelyn Thompson and Riley Fleming each had a hit and drove in one run apiece.
Elaina Tackett scored three runs.
