HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Logan edges Paintsville with walk-off hit in eighth

Logan’s Lauren Adkins singled home two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat Paintsville, 9-8, in the opening round of the Lyndel Potter Memorial tournament played in Pikeville on Friday night.

The Lady Tigers had erased a six-run deficit before the Lady Wildcats came up clutch on a 1-2 pitch.

Losing pitcher Laney Bledsoe belted a grand-slam home run in the fifth inning while Chessa Collins hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to knock the score at 7-7.

Destiny Trimble singled and scored a pair of runs while Molly Music added two hits. Maggie Music had an RBI and scored once.

Winning pitcher Myleigh Adkins had two hits, including a solo home run, and batted in four runs. Taylor Noe singled, walked two times and scored three runs.

Lacy Curry singled, walked, scored, and drove in a pair of runs. Lauren Adkins had a two-run single.
