HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Lady Tigers roar at Lions Invitational

Paintsville’s Lady Tigers ran their record to a perfect 6-0 this season after sweeping their way through the Lady Lions Invitational played at Boyd County High School on Saturday. It was their second straight title.

Paintsville defeated Fairview, 2-0; Boyd County, 3-2; Ashland Blazer 2-0; and Fairview, 2-0.

Here is a breakdown of each match:

Paintsville vs. Fairview

Blair Ratliff had eight kills and 3 blocks in the 25-17 and 25-21 match win. Hadley Hardin had three kills, eight digs and two aces.

Kara Ward finished with five kills, two blocks and two digs while Hailey Little was solid with eight kills, one block and three digs. Bella Blackburn had 22 assists, four digs and three serving aces.

Paintsville vs. Boyd County

Hailey Little had a monster match with 22 kills, five blocks and four digs in the 15-25, 25-15, 15-25, 29-27 and 15-12 come-from-behind match win.

Bella Blackburn totaled three kills, 45 assists, 14 digs and two aces while Hadley Hardin finished with eight kills, six blocks, 15 digs and two aces.

Blair Ratliff had 11 kills, four blocks and Mattie Ratliff finished with two assists and 31 digs. Emma Music added 13 digs and Alissa Mullins had 13.

Paintsville vs. Ashland Blazer

Hailey Little finished with seven kills and two blocks while Kara Ward totaled six kills, five digs and two aces in the 25-23 and 25-18 match win.

Blair Ratliff had four kills, three blocks and one dig. Mattie Ratliff finished with eight digs. Hadley Hardin totaled three kills, five digs and one serving ace.

Paintsville vs. Fairview

Hailey Little totaled nine kills, three blocks and one dig in the 25-16 and 25-19 match win.

Hadley Hardin had one kill, three blocks, three digs and one serving ace while Blair Ratliff finished with seven kills, one block and one dig.
