HS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Tigers bounce Jenkins; Lady Jags top PCC

Paintsville used a balanced scoring attack and quick start to knock off Jenkins, 58-46, in the 15th Region All “A” Classic tournament played at Appalachian Wireless Arena on Wednesday night.

Emilea Preece paced the Lady Tigers, now 1-1, with 16 points while Ava Hyden tossed in 15. Leandra Curnutte added 14 and Kali Mulcahy chipped in 10.

Paintsville will face Shelby Valley (1-0) in the second semifinal matchup on Friday night.

Emma Stewart led all scorers for the Lady Cavaliers (0-2) with 21 points. Kristin Thacker added 10.

Floyd Central pulled away from Perry Central in the second quarter and the Lady Jaguars went on to score a 76-59 win in a game played on Wednesday night.

Katie Jo Moore poured in a game-high 29 points as Floyd Central improved to 2-0. Riley Jo Compton netted 14 and Jada Johnson followed with 13.
