MTS/BWW PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Phelps garners honor

Paintsville running back Harris Phelps scored one touchdown and set up three others in the Tigers’ 38-7 Class 1A championship win over Kentucky Country Day on Friday.

He ran for 221 yards to cap off the season and led the Tigers to the school’s first title in the 100-year history of the program.

His effort has earned him Mountain Top Sports/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week.

Here is a look at other top performances:

All-purpose back Jake Hyden rushed for three touchdowns, including two in the second half.

Devin Hall returned a fumble for a touchdown.

Placekicker Braydon Combs was five-for-five on extra point kicks and booted a 27-yard field goal.
