Johnson Central punched their tickets to the girls’ 15th Region tournament semifinals with a 50-39 win over Shelby Valley in a game played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Thursday night.
Sammi Sites and Clara Blair scored 18 each to lead the Lady Eagles, now 21-4. KK Vannoy added nine.
The Lady Kats, whose season ended at 12-11, was led Alyssa Elswick with 12 points. Kelsey Owens followed with eight.
Johnson Central will face Lawrence County (19-10) at 4 pm on Saturday. The winner will advance to the championship game next Monday night.

Kensley Feltner finished with a double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 12 rebounds as the Lady Bulldogs ran past Pike County Central, 82-67, in a game played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Thursday night.
Kaison Ward followed with 22 points and Sophie Adkins added 15 as Lawrence County moved to 19-10.
Hannah May paced the Lady Hawks with 26 points and Emalie Tackett tossed in 16 as Central’s season ends at 9-21.
