59TH DISTRICT TOURNAMENT: Panthers, Lady Panthers cruise into finals

Pikeville jumped ahead early on against Jenkins and rolled to a 68-35 win in the 59th District tournament semifinals played at East Ridge on Monday night.

Senior Rylee Samons finished with a game-high 21 points and went over 2,000 career points as the Panthers improved to 19-7. Eli Johnson added 11 and Charlie Fitzer chipped in nine.

Gavin Gibson scored 10 for the Cavaliers who finished the year at 18-13.

Four-time defending 15th Region champion Pikeville cruised into the 59th District tournament championship game with a 95-24 win over host East Ridge on Monday night.

Kylie Alvin came off the bench and scored a game-high 26 points, including eight, three-point goals. Trinity Rowe added 22 as the Lady Panthers moved to 25-5. Kyera Thornsbury scored 10.

Kirsten Easterling led the Lady Warriors (3-27) with 13 points.
