HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Shooting woes sink Pikeville in Elite 8

Pikeville guard Heath Jarrell’s ankle injury just 30 second into the game was a sign of things to come for the Panthers.

Evangel Christian used its size advantage and speed to knock off the Panthers, 52-37, in the All “A” Classic Elite 8 game played at Corbin Arena late Friday night.

Pikeville, now 11-4, struggled offensively for the second straight game.

Charlie Fitzer paced the Panthers with 14 points and Carter Hurley followed with eight.
