Prestonsburg overcame a slow start against West Carter to pull away and beat the Comets, 38-14, in a district game played in Olive Hill on Friday night.
The Blackcats bounced back from their first loss to improve to 7-1. They honored the West Carter program by wearing a decal on their helmets following an automobile accident which claimed to Comet seniors.
Running back Ethan Jarvis ran for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 22 carries. Dalton Elliott added a rushing score.
Quarterback Reece Hamilton tossed a pair of TD pass, both to Elliott, covering 37 and 20 yards.
Prestonsburg will return to Josh Francis Memorial Field to host Bath County (1-6) on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
