COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Second-half surge lifts Bears past Tigers

The University of Pikeville Bears took the lead in the second half and held on to down the Campbellsville Tigers, 83-76, in a Mid-South Conference matchup played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Tuesday night.

UPIKE evened its record and snapped a two-game losing streak. It was the second home court win for head coach Tigh Compton’s squad.

Jacob Brown led a balanced scoring attack with 17 points. Malcolm Green followed with 14 points while Jordan Perry, Taevon Horton and Korbin Spencer tossed in 11 each.

The Bears are back in action at home on Saturday against the Georgetown Tigers. Tip-off from Appalachian Wireless Arena is slated for 4 p.m.
