COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UPIKE women beat SSU; advance to MSC quarterfinals

The University of Pikeville Bears advanced to the Mid-South Conference Tournament women’s quarterfinals with a 76-60 home win over Shawnee State in a matchup played at the UPIKE Gymnasium on Monday night.

Mary Englert led four Bears (18-12) in scoring with 19 points while Bailey Frazier added 13 and LeeAnna McNulty tossed in 12. Morgan Stamper recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

UPIKE will next face the University of the Cumberlands (19-11) at 9 pm on Friday night in Bowling Green.

The winner of UPIKE vs Cumberlands will advance to the semifinals and take on the winner of Campbellsville and Freed-Hardeman on Sunday, February 27th at 3:00 PM (CT).
