The University of Pikeville women’s basketball Bears pulled away from Midway University in the second half and cruised to a 98-75 win in a non-conference game played at the Appalachian Wireless Arena on Saturday.
Senior Brianna Burbridge fired in a game-high 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the way as UPIKE improved to 3-0. She also reached a personal milestone by scoring her 1,000th career point in the opening half.
Alexis Reed led three others in double-figure scoring with 22 points while Sierra Feltner tossed in 12 and Mary Englert added 11. Morgan Stamper chipped in nine.
The Bears will return to action at Life University (2-3) on Dec. 5.
