DISTRICT SOCCER TOURNAMENT: Pikeville, P’burg, Lawrence girls advance to finals

Pikeville’s Hannah Kidd scored on an unassisted goal in the 53rd minute to put the Lady Panthers in front to stay in a 3-2 win over Belfry, in the 58th District tournament matchup played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Rylee Theiss and Allison Atkins added one goal each as the Lady Panthers, now 3-9, advanced to the championship match.

Alyssa Akers and Mylah Caudill had one goal apiece for Belfry, which saw its season end at 5-9.

Pikeville goalkeeper Lauren Collins had 12 saves through the first 78 minutes. Theiss finished out the match. Belfry took 17 shots on goal and the Lady Panthers managed 10.

Prestonsburg advanced to the 57th District tournament championship match with a 10-0 victory over Martin County at StoneCrest Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Kadynce Hackworth knocked home five goals for the Lady Blackcats, now 10-3. Lauren Johnson followed with three goals and one assist. Anna Burchett added one goal and assisted on four others.

Goalkeeper Alivia Slone recorded the shutout win.

Lawrence County took charge early on against Shelby Valley and cruised to a 12-0 win in in the 58th District tournament matchup played at Bob Amos Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

Emersyn Elliott had four goals and one assist for the Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 9-2-1. Alyssa Moore added three goals and one assist while Ellie Webb added two goals and totaled three assists.

Saibra Moore, Shelby Borders and Camran Diamond each scored one goal.
