HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Belfry, Pikeville, Shelby Valley score lopsided wins

Belfry pounded out 15 hits and went on to defeat Phelps, 14-0, in a 60th district game played on the road Thursday night.

Isaiah Stanley had three hits and drove in two runs while scoring twice as the Pirates improved to 3-2. Noah Brown doubled, walked, score ad pair of runs and while adding an RBI.

Parker Hall doubled, scored, and batted in two Tyler Slone tripled, singled, walked and scored.

Chase Varney was the winning pitcher. The only hit he allowed was a single to Cainan Land.

Dawson McCoy was tagged with the loss.

Pikeville pulled away from Ashland Blazer with a six-run, sixth inning to score a 12-4 win in a game played at Davis Park on Thursday night.

Tate Walters and Jake Lowe drove in a pair of runs each as the Panthers moved to 5-2 and won their fourth straight game. Walters doubled and scored while Lowe singled and scored.

Braydn Hall tripled, singled, walked, scored, and added an RBI. Winning pitcher Jackson Hall added a base hit and batted in a run.

Logan Windle singled, walked twice and scored all three times he reached base.

Lawrence County built a nine-run lead against Floyd Central and held on for a 10-7 road win on Thursday night.

Nick Collinsworth had four hits, including a triple, scored once, and knocked in one run as the Bulldogs moved to 4-1. Eli Fletcher tripled and doubled while scoring twice and driving in one run.

Mason Preston singled, walked, scored once, and batted in three runs while Bryce Blevins added two hits, one a double, scored and added an RBI.

Will Lafferty and Blue Fletcher added RBIs. Fletcher doubled and singled.

Talon Pollock was the winning pitcher.

Kolton Crum doubled and singled, knocking in three runs in the loss. Wesley Prater doubled, singled, walked twice and batted in a pair of runs.

Letcher Central snapped a two-all tie and the Cougars went on to hammer Pike County Central, 17-6, in a game played at the Hawks Nest on Thursday night.

Aiden Fields had three hits, including a double, scored two runs and knocked in four as the Cougars improved to 4-2.

Jonah Little added three singles, scored twice, and added a pair of RBIs. Clay Hall doubled, singled, scored and batted in two runs. Dawson Kincer doubled in two runs and Preston Helle added a double, walked twice, scored two times, and added an RBI.
