Betsy Layne took a three-run lead in the bottom of the first inning and went on to beat Jenkins, 13-3, in the 15th Region All “a” Classic tournament game played at Stanville on Monday night.
Jacob Newsome had two hits, including a double, scored twice and knocked in three runs for the Bobcats. Reese Music doubled in two runs and scored.
Keaton Brown added two hits, scored three runs, and added an RBI.
Andrew Kidd singled in one run and scored a pair while winning pitcher Byron Tackett walked twice and scored three times.
Losing pitcher Caleb Morgan singled in one run and scored for the cavaliers. John Addington singled and scored.
