HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Big third inning carries Pikeville past Valley

The Pikeville Panthers used a four-run, third inning to take control as the went on to defeat Shelby Valley, 6-2, in the 59th district matchup played at Davis Park on Tuesday night.

Winning pitcher Jackson Hall had a pair of RBI-singles as the Panthers improved to 16-6. Noah Jarrell added a two-run single.

Jake Lowe added two hits, drove in a run, and scored while Dylan Thompson tripled, walked, and scored a pair of runs. Bash Ryan tripled, walked, and scored a run.

Valley’s Samuel Brown had three hits and scored once in the loss. Jaxson Damron was the starting and losing pitcher.
