HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Paintsville outslugs Lawrence County; Pike Central stays unbeaten

Paintsville held on down the stretch to slip past Lawrence County, 11-10, in a game played on Monday night.

Baron Ratliff blasted a pair of home runs and doubled while driving in seven runs. Winning pitcher Zach Taylor added a solo shot as the Tigers moved to4-1.

Nick Collinsworth had three hits and knocked in a pair of runs as the Bulldogs lost for the first time this season in four games.

Blue Fletcher and Will Lafferty had a pair of RBIs each and Braydan Maynard added two hits, including a double, and scored three runs.

Luke Patton was tagged with the loss.

Pike Central overcame an early deficit to stay unbeaten with a come-from-behind win over Leslie County, 9-5, in a game played at the Hawks Nest on Monday night.

Patrick Mandrell had a pair of singles, scored twice, and drove in two runs as the Hawks moved to 3-0. Peyton Compton added two hits and an RBI and Hunter Adkins singled, walked, scored, and batted in one.

Caleb Mouton doubled and walked twice while scoring once.

Ben Huffman was the winning pitcher.

Chapmanville used a six-run, fourth inning to pull away and beat Belfry, 11-6, at Ted Ellis Field on Monday night.

Trey Butcher led the Tigers in the season opener with three hits, one a double. He scored two runs and batted in a pair. Tyson Thompson and Jacob Topping added RBIs.

Devin Jude had three hits in the loss for the Pirates. He doubled and singled twice and drove in four runs as Belfry dropped to 1-2. Noah Brown added two hits and batted in one run while Isaiah Stanley singled, walked and scored twice.

Logan Windle tripled and singled, scored two runs and knocked home three as the Panthers moved to 3-2. Braydn Hall doubled and singled while scoring twice and driving in two runs.

Jackson Hall doubled, scored three runs, and added a pair of RBIs while winning pitcher Sam Wright singled, walked, scored, and added a pair of RBIs.

Landon Robinson had a pair of doubles and knocked in one run in the loss. Hayden Robinette singled in two runs.

Garrett Jones took the loss for the Warriors in the season opener.
